Vegan MoFo, Day 31: HALLOWEEN! (part 1)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I’ve talked about our Birthoween parties both here and on Instagram, and for this final MoFo Halloween prompt, I’m going to show you what I made for this year’s Birthoween party, which we threw this past Friday.

Monster snot! (Spooky queso with black beans, black olives, and home-canned rotel – and boo chips.)

As we were putting together the menu for this year’s party, we started to notice that a lot of the foods we were choosing were monster-themed, so we just went with that. Enough chatter, though – on to the photos!

Creepy eyeball (French onion) dip!

Buffalo chicken dip jack o’lantern with cheesy garlic bread.

Head cheese (so dubbed by my son) – smoked paprika cashew cheese brain.

Monster eyeballs (cheese & sausage balls).

Monster boogers (toffee popcorn).

Monster toes (hot dogs in biscuit dough) – gross, right?

Spookables! Spooky Lunchables (spooky shapes cut out from Field Roast smoked tomato slices, Tofurky ham slices, Yves salami slices, Follow Your Heart pepperjack & American cheeses, and Violife smoked gouda on various crackers)!.

BONES (cheesy garlic breadsticks, which were served with warm blood, er, marinara sauce).

I also made red velvet vampire bite cupcakes, but absolutely failed to get a photo of them before they were gone. Similarly, Mike made zombie head apple cider (tradition!) and a dragon’s blood punch, which we also forgot to document.

We also dressed up, of course.

We’re the BEE-52s! Complete with a rock lobster!

Even Mona wanted (well, okay, we wanted her) to be a Bee-52.

Cutest pit bee-ull ever.

Mike’ll have one last MoFo post later tonight, showing off our Halloween night dinner.

Happy halloween, ghouls and goblins!

  1. Mona looks so pleased with herself in her costume!

I love how creative you are with your party food. If I lived near, I’d totally hire you guys to cater parties for me.
